Alize wasn't a particularly vivid dreamer.
Usually her dreams were disconnected things that made no sense, and when she woke up she was usually left with some kind of leftover feeling rather than any clear images or memories of what she had dreamed about. Even staying so long at the Black Order hadn't changed that, although every time she woke up she expected to be in her room back in Widow's Kiss, and had to remind herself each morning of where she was.
So waking up in a weird, blue-gray monochrome world that was completely unfamiliar was more than a little confusing.
It was dark, but everything was visible due to a sort of waning moonlight-like illumination. Alize looked around at the towering buildings, the empty roads, all completely devoid of life, and realized with a chill that this world was familiar. It looked like House and Cuddy's world, but the writing on the signs was different, like it was in . . .
Haruhi's world.
Shaking her head, Alize braced her hands on her seat and realized with a start that she was dressed, and sitting in her chair. She didn't remember changing either any more than she remembered getting a worldhop to this place. And her legs were hurting far less than they had been before she'd gone to bed. Was she dreaming?
Even if there was, there was no point in staying in one place. Moving slowly, she grasped her chair wheels and picked a random direction down the street. The chair sounded unnaturally loud in the silence, and she noticed that there was no sound at all, anywhere, except for a faint booming in the distance, like thunder. No people, no lights, no night-time animals . . . she had to be dreaming.
But for some reason it didn't feel like it.
Alize turned a corner and peered worriedly at the buildings above her. The sky was dark, like night, and there was no moon--nowhere for the strange illumination to be coming from. She hurriedly lowered her eyes and then suddenly realized that she recognized the street as Haruhi's neighbourhood, from the one time she'd gone to visit Haruhi during the Loveless virus. So, she was definitely dreaming about Haruhi's world. But why?
She drew her chair up to Haruhi's building and examined it curiously. No lights, no evidence of any people, just like everywhere else. This place was really beginning to give her the creeps.
As she sat staring up at the darkened windows, a strange noise came from behind her, loud enough in the quiet to startle her. Alize spun her chair around one-handedly as her other hand flew to her hip, connecting reassuringly with the grip of her hi-fi gun. Belatedly, she realized that it wouldn't do anything more than stun an attacker, but if this was a dream it wouldn't matter anyway, right?
It didn't matter either way, for as she turned, she saw the origin of the sound was a familiar blonde body lying across the street. Who had definitely not been there a moment ago.
Alize quickly wheeled over to him and dropped out of her chair onto the rough concrete. Ignoring the scratches that earned her, she grabbed his shoulder and shook.
"Roxas. Roxas!" For a heart-stopping moment he didn't respond and she wildly thought he might be dead, but then he stirred. Alize pressed her lips together and shook him again. "Roxas, wake up! There's something weird going on!"
